Lord of All

November 8, 2015 Speaker: Ryan Johnston Series: Gospel of Mark

Topic: Kingdom Passage: Mark 2:23–2:36

Ryan Johnston concludes the study of the Gospel of Mark teaching from the end of Chapter 2 and the beginning of Chapter 3. Here, Jesus makes a statement that is a decisive moment in history when he proclaims that the Kingdom of God is at hand and we are to repent. His proclamation is so astounding because Jesus is saying that the tasks of the spiritual life - fasting, praying, going to church - should no longer be the point of our lives but that Jesus must be the point. For us today, we must shift our focus from the practice of our faith to the object of our faith, recognizing that we are made right with God only through Jesus and not through any of our works.
