Topic: Traditions Passage: Mark 7:1–7:8
We start a new series this week, "Traditions," in the Gospel of Mark. Ryan Johnston begins the series in chapter 7 in which the Pharisees challenge Jesus and his disciples on the rules - or traditions - that govern the way in which they eat. Jesus rebukes the Pharisees, telling them they leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men. In our worship, is it more about the traditions we like or the God we love? Is our worship gospel-driven or tradition-driven? Tradition for God without the affection for God is offensive to God.
