Boards

Pastor Brannon walks through understanding how each board functions at the North Canton Chapel, what you need to know for board nominations, and how last year's constitutional amendment impacts elder board nominations.

1. Pray

Being a spiritual leader at The North Canton Chapel is a great privilege and responsibility. Please consider the character and calling of those to be nominated and pray before making your nomination.

2. Read

Search the scriptures regarding the calling and character of those to be nominated.

• 1 Timothy 3:1-13
• Titus 1:5-16
• Romans 12:1-2
• Ephesians 4:1-11
• 1 Peter 2:15-17

3. Nominate

"NCC is staff directed, elder protected, deacon served, and missions extended."

NCC is staff directed: Under the leadership of Jesus, our pastoral, ministry, and support staff set the direction for NCC and equips (Ephesians 4:11-16)

Our three boards:

1. NCC is Elder protected:

Elders oversee God’s flock and protect NCC from blind spots, false teaching, and oversee strategic direction. (1st Timothy 3:1-7).

2. NCC is Deacon served:

Deacons serve the body through a supportive role by overseeing communion, baptism, hospital visits, and other crucial functions (1st Timothy 3:8-13).

3. NCC is Missions extended:

The missions board extends the reach of NCC by maintaining relationships with our missions partners, planning missions trips, and creating awareness of God’s movement beyond our four walls.

Before you nominate, please discern the biblical qualifications as prescribed in the passages above. At NCC, an Elder or Deacon must be a man of at least 21 years of age who has been a member of the church for at least one year. Mission board members shall have the same qualification requirements except that both men and women may serve.

Nominations Open until Sunday Sept 15th!
