How long have you been a Christian, and how did you come to Christ?
I grew up in a denominational church, but never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ until a friend in college opened my eyes to the faith. He was a Paul in my life and discipled me when I didn’t know what discipleship meant. Because of that discipleship, in 1995, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
How long have you been at the North Canton Chapel, and what brought you here?
I came to NCC in 1994 and later got re-baptized there. A group of close friends and I were searching for a church after college in the area, and quickly found a home here. Soon after, I met my wife Lori, and we’ve been a part of this family ever since.
How has completing the Shepherd School shaped you, or allowed you to grow in your faith?
Since being called in 2024, God’s been refining me daily in faith and surrender – working through the Holy Spirit and those people He put in my life. He’s been equipping me to shepherd the flock with another level of care that extends and complements where I’ve previously served with the deacons.
Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I like to play Scrabble. There are words I know that score a lot of points in Scrabble, but have no place in normal, day-to-day conversation. Standing in a river and fly fishing, soaking in God’s creation, also ranks high on the list, as well as sitting by a raging fire in the fireplace on the patio – I go through a lot of firewood.
